Hi all, my name is Darla Cook and this is my blog about animals. I worked as a veterinarian for over 10 years and now run an animal welfare organization. My blog will be of interest to adults and children alike, I write about all things related to animals – pets and wildlife.

A little about the human-animal bond:
Through the regulation of natural communities, animals indirectly influence humans by creating an acceptable habitat for them. For example, some birds destroy insect pests of wild and cultivated plants.

Primitive man hunted wild animals, they served as his food. Until now a significant part of fish is obtained by man by catching it in the seas and oceans, rather than by raising it in special fish farms. There are also cases of commercial hunting of animals and birds.

However, domestic animals are the most important for humans. They give people not only food (milk, meat, eggs, honey), but also serve as assistants in various activities.

Pets are also good educators for children. On the example of animals, you can tell your child about boundaries and explain that caring can turn into aggression and violence. After all, no matter how fluffy the pet is, it doesn’t mean it’s ready for affection. Sometimes the pet makes it clear that he’s not ready for displays of affection – he pulls out of his arms, growls, twitches his tail and bites.

Before you decide to take the serious step of adopting a pet, it’s important to understand that taking care of him will be difficult. But if you’re ready for that, the love and support of your pet will compensate for all the troubles.
